NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday distributed around 71,000 appointment letters to new recruits via video conferencing and said the Centre is working in “mission mode” to provide government jobs to youth. Terming this an “entry point” for the new recruits in public service and nation building, he said this means a new world of progress has now opened before them. “Make yourself more qualified by acquiring knowledge while working simultaneously and increase your ability by learning good things from your seniors...In the new responsibility that all of you are going to assume, you will be appointed as the representative of Centre. You should focus on capacity building to provide your services as a public servant,” he said while addressing the second “Rozgar Mela” (employment fair). Physical copies of appointment letters were handed over at 45 locations across India, except Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh where the model code of conduct is in force.
