Our exporters are affected because refineries in Gujarat are benefiting from crude oil from Russia: Stalin
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the impact of the additional tariffs imposed by the U.S. government on Indian imports. Labourers in many States including Tamil Nadu, Tiruppur in particular, were severely affected, he said. Mr. Stalin, who is on an official visit to Germany, said in a social media post: ““How is it justified to affect our exporters who generate thousands of jobs just because oil refineries in Gujarat could benefit from cheap crude oil from Russia?” Recalling his letter to the Prime Minister over the impact of additional tariffs by the U.S. government on Indian imports, Mr. Stalin urged Mr. Modi for the relief measures he had requested. “Please do justice to your title ‘Vishwa Guru’ by holding talks with the U.S.,” he said. Mr. Stalin, who is also the DMK president, thanked leaders of various political parties that took part in the agitation organised by the Secular Progressive Alliance over the issue.
