Gujarat has received 90% of its average monsoon rainfall so far this season, which is less than a previous year but higher than 2023. Water storage in the state's 206 dams has reached 80%, with 106 dams on high alert and 29 on alert due to significant inflows. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across various districts from September 3 to 6. So far, 1,036 people have been rescued and 5,311 shifted to safer locations from flood-affected areas.
