Officers are yet to find out who uploaded the video on social media and if the school and hostel authorities tried to hush up the incident. Cases of violence involving school students have recently seen a rise in Gujarat. After a Class 10 student was murdered in Ahmedabad, a Class 8 student was stabbed in Balasinor city of Mahisagar, and a Class 9 student was threatened by a classmate with a knife in Bhavnagar in August alone, another incident reported in Junagadh has now come to light — more than a month after it took place. The Junagadh police on Tuesday filed a non-cognisable offence against four students of Classes 11 and 12 of a city school more than a month after they allegedly thrashed another student in a hostel room over a fight that ensued during a kabaddi match.
