The call for a permanent Gujarat High Court bench in Rajkot has intensified, gaining support from both the legal fraternity and political leaders. The Rajkot Bar Association has formed a 27-member committee to prepare a detailed case for the demand, citing the significant travel hardships faced by litigants from Kutch and Saurashtra to Ahmedabad. Proponents also highlight Rajkot's historical role as a judicial center and the rising volume of litigation in the region. Political figures have pledged to advocate for the bench with state and central governments.
